    Coomera Nines Rugby League Competition

    Time: 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

    This year we look to host three divisions over two days. Women’s and U18 will play most pool games on the Friday night and Men’s with all finals on the Saturday. Incorporated into this year’s festivities will be a mini food truck fest in the afternoon with live music and bar, just in time for the finals. Coomera Cutters JRLFC will have their canteen running most of the day. Jumping castles, snow cones and fairy floss will be available for the kidlets, so bring the family and spectators down and make a day of it.

    The Christmas Garden

    Presented by Life Church & supported by Salisbury Council, The Christmas Garden is a beautiful display of 5 life sized, handmade scenes from the original Christmas Nativity Story. It has attracted over 1,000 visitors from many cultures each year since it began in 2015. Entry is free and includes a free sausage sizzle, free entry into colouring competition & candy cane garden, free bouncy castle (Sat only), free kids trinket painting (Sat only), live music and much more.     SRC Launch with Games2U – Woodcroft Library

    LASER TAG | ONLINE GAMING | HAMSTER BALLS | AND MORE! Games2U are transforming the library into a mega laser tag zone! They will also bring a giant hamster ball and their online gaming truck. Celebrate the launch of the Summer Reading Club by spending a couple of hours chilling with GAMES2U. Get your GAME ON and register for the SRC program from 1 December. To participate in this event, participants need to be a library member and register for the Summer Reading Club program over the summer holidays. This event is a LOCK IN. Parents can leave their children at the event and collect them from the library at its conclusion. Any parents who wish to stay will, of course, be welcome. Parental supervision required for children under 10. Must wear closed in shoes to participate. For ages 5+ years. Bookings essential.

    JDRF Fundraising Screening: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

    A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… One group of dedicated believers banded together. They had one goal: to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes and its complications. Fast forward 47 years and Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) is the leading global organisation funding type 1 diabetes research. JDRF Australia is built on a grassroots model of people connecting in their local communities, collaborating regionally for efficiency and broader fundraising impact, and uniting on an international stage to pool resources, passion and energy. Please join JDRF for an exclusive fundraising screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Tickets are $20 and include a small drink, popcorn and Choc-top. The movie will start at 10 am, please arrive at 9.45 am to allow enough time to be seated. The 501st Legion will at the cinema to meet, greet and take photos with everyone before the movie begins.

    Carols on the Hill

    The Archdiocese of Hobart warmly welcomes you to the inaugural Carols on the Hill event. Carols on the Hill is a free, traditional outdoor carols event specifically designed for families to share in the joyful spirit of Christmas. Supported by the City of Hobart, the event will be staged at the Hobart campus of Guilford Young College on Sunday, 17 December between 7-9.00pm, with gates opening from 6pm. The oval is secure and can comfortably hold around 1200 people – making it an ideal venue for families with children. Compered by Tasmanian-born speaker and author Sam Clear, Carols on the Hill will feature local group and individual performances, as well as community carol singing. The lighting of candles as dusk descends on the city is sure to make for a memorable carols event. A giving tree will offer people the opportunity to donate non-perishable food items to support those in need this Christmas, and families are invited to light a candle and say a prayer at the Nativity scene. We look forward to welcoming you as we join together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
