Spookers for Kids – Taste of Terror

    Date: May 18, 2019 - August 24, 2019

Time: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Strictly for 8 years and above. This is a tour of the Spookers Haunted House with 1 in character tour guide, plus a self-guided tour of Disturbia in 3D. There are no other actors. The tour consists of some scares, along with a behind the scenes tour, where you might learn some of the secrets of the Spookers experience. We use experienced scare actors who are able to change the level of scares and frights to suit the age of the victims. Older children and adults will definitely love the experience too! We are very aware that adults are able to rationalise what is happening, but children are more at risk of not understanding where reality ends and make-believe begins. We have no interest in traumatising children but appreciate that many of you would like to bring your children for a tour through Spookers. Be warned that there is some fairly graphic gore in several of the rooms. The tour guide will make every attempt to vary the tour to suit the participant’s tolerance level, but we cannot guarantee that every child will cope well. Please use your discretion. Disturbia: During the day you and your children will experience the crazy 3-dimensional artwork, lighting effects and unbelievable vortex tunnel, but without the actors that prowl the clown infested hallways during the R16 shows. Book a birthday party in Spookers Banquet Room to have an extra special day. See website for details. “Hi there, I just wanted to say a huge thank you! My daughter had the best time of her life today with her friends and “Old Man Joe”, you guys put on such an awesome day for her I can’t express my gratitude enough, it’s now nearly midnight and I can’t get the kids to sleep. They just will not shut up, they are going on and on about how much they enjoyed themselves!” “I can’t believe how cheap it was for all that we got, the atmosphere was great and it was catered for a wide range of ages, my daughter turned 10, but I had kids aged 9 through to 13 and they all loved it!” “I would definitely recommend Spookers to all out there who want to have fun, be treated with respect, get your money’s worth and make some excellent memories!” “My gosh you guys rock and thank you “Old Man Joe” for the lovely compliment you made in regards to our group, you were superb and there need to be more people like you out there that actually enjoy having fun with the kids, and getting them into the spirit of things while actually helping them learn!” “I can’t say enough about you guys, keep up the awesome work guys you should all be commended! (Oh and yes, I have another group coming in 3 weeks, to the R16) and since I have been so many times I can’t wait because it is never the same!” Please follow and like us:

TEG Dainty, Nice Events and David Roy Williams Entertainment are excited to announce that Postmodern Jukebox will return to New Zealand in September and October 2019 following four hugely successful tours in as many years. The multi-talented collective will bring their re-imagined contemporary hits back to eagerly awaiting fans with a brand-new Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 show. The tour opens up in Tauranga on Friday 11 October, and moves on to Auckland on Saturday 12 October, Hamilton on Sunday 13 October, Napier on Tuesday 15 October, Palmerston North on Wednesday 16 October, Wellington on Friday 18 October and Christchurch on Saturday 19 October before winding up in Dunedin on Sunday 20 October. Tickets go on sale at 9.00am NZDT on Thursday 8 November for the eight-city tour. To usher in the upcoming Twenty-Twenties, the famed time-twisting musical collective will circumnavigate the globe and prepare the world for a new decade with their Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour. Postmodern Jukebox creator Scott Bradlee hopes this new decade will see a return to the style and craftsmanship that typified the music of past generations. “Last time around the ‘Twenties gave us Jazz, America’s one true art form. Who knows what is possible in the 2020s?” says Bradlee. “One thing that is for sure is that there are a lot of folks that are tired of the clickbait headlines, mindless reality TV, and smartphone addiction that has only served to divide people in the last decade. We’re using our small corner of the pop culture space to tell people to forget their troubles, and come join us for a night of celebrating true musical talent and timeless style – live and in real life.” Postmodern Jukebox’s Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour will host official Twenties 2.0 initiation performance parties in nearly 250 cities all around the world. “When creating a touring version of the Postmodern Jukebox concept, we work on pairing the right talent with the right material and building a unique and amazing experience for Postmodern Jukebox fans,” Bradlee says. “Get ready for the most sensational ’20s party this side of The Great Gatsby.” Started by Scott Bradlee in 2009, Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) have gone on to amass over one billion YouTube views with 3.5 million subscribers, and have chalked up more than 1.7 million fans on Facebook. For the past half-decade, PMJ has toured the world, playing hundreds of shows to sold-out houses on six continents. They’ve also performed on showslike “Good Morning America,” topped iTunes and Billboard charts, and caught the attention of NPR Music, NBC News and a wide array of celebrity fans. Summer Play by Jane Walsh

    Date: December 3, 2019

Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Jane Walsh is originally from Wellington but has called Auckland’s North Shore home for the last 30 years. She can be found at the beach most mornings walking her badly behaved golden retriever. She is a former commercial lawyer who these days prefers exploring her creative side. She paints predominantly with acrylics and started painting abstracts as an antidote to an A-type personality! While she is drawn to bold colour and contrast, she enjoys using swathes of neutral colour to slow down the movement in her paintings. I love our kiwi summers. To me it means the beach and the water. Because New Zealand’s light is so uniquely bright, the blues always appear bluer at this time of year, the greens greener. Against the backdrop of our brilliant blue skies, I’ve tried to capture the essence of kiwi kids at play over summer – in, around and over the water! The paintings are based on images taken with my camera as I trailed my long suffering kids and their friends. At the same time, I’ve been enjoying exploring more abstract painting, which allows me to be freer with my brushstrokes, while still embracing light and brightness in my choice of bold colours and application. I hope you enjoy these two interpretations of summer play. Please follow and like us:
