New Zealand’s favourite classical pianist, Michael Houstoun, joins conductor, Uwe Grodd, for two concertos – J. S. Bach’s ‘Concerto in D minor’ one of the first works written specificcally for piano and orchestra, followed by the mighty ‘Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini’ for piano and orchestra by Rachmaninov.
MSO adds a romantic touch with Tchaikovsky’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ Fantasy Overture – tracing the tragic story of the two lovers. We experience the dramatic conflict of the two families, the delicate love-story – with pillow talk – and the transfiguration of the unhappy lovers as they are released from earthly existence.Please follow and like us:
