    Date: May 29, 2019 - August 4, 2019

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN HISTORY DURING THIS BRAND-NEW INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE CREATED BY THE LEGO® MASTERS JUDGE, RYAN ‘THE BRICKMAN’ MCNAUGHT   Discover the history of the world’s greatest cities and help create your own cities of the future when Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® CITY takes over Scienceworks Melbourne from Saturday 15 June to Sunday 4 August 2019.   This new interactive LEGO® CITY experience from Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught and his expert team, Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® CITY, elevates the concept to a whole new level.  Showcasing the life and architecture of five of the world’s most iconic cities – Dubai, London, New York, Sydney and Tokyo – from castles and forts to massive skyscrapers, visitors can trace each city’s evolution all the way from 1000AD to today in a fun, educational and immersive way.   Tickets to Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® CITY go on sale at 2pm tomorrow, Tuesday 28 May at Ticketek.   Brickman’s fourth LEGO® brick experience, Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® CITY has been exclusively curated and built by Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught and his expert team.  McNaught is the only LEGO® Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere, one of just 14 in the world and is the official judge of Channel Nine’s new blockbuster reality series, LEGO® Masters.   McNaught hopes the interactive experience will encourage visitors to learn and play whilst also enjoying large scale sculptures. “Brickman Cities brings to life the rich histories of the world’s greatest cities like never before and I hope visitors will find it both informative and fun.  I can’t wait to see young LEGO® enthusiasts take what they have learnt and use their imagination to create their own LEGO® CITY of tomorrow,” says McNaught.    At the centre of this new interactive experience is a 3m x 4m scale model of Lower Manhattan, built entirely in white LEGO® pieces with 3D stories of New York projected directly onto them.  Using cutting-edge technology of UHD 4K projectors, visitors are taken on a journey from the First People’s villages right through to present day.   “Using 3D technology adds a whole new dimension to the LEGO® experience which I never thought would be possible! It’s very cool to see how it enriches the stories we are trying to tell through this experience,” says McNaught.   Budding builders itching to get their hands on some LEGO® bricks can do so in the interactive master build zone home to half a million LEGO® bricks where they can build their vision of a LEGO® CITY of tomorrow.  Brickman Cities also features a brand-new collaboration with LEGO® CITY, an entire wall showcasing the history of LEGO® CITY, including CITY Fire Stations from decades ago.   More than 1,900 hours and 1 million LEGO® bricks were needed to build Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® CITY.  Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught and the creative team spent a further 250 hours developing sophisticated 3D projections to bring the hero city of New York to life.   With the new experience soon to open in Melbourne and a second series of Channel Nine’s smash-hit show LEGO® Masters announced to return Read more [...]

    Postmodern Jukebox 2019

    Date: September 22, 2019

Time: 12:00 am to 12:00 am

TEG Dainty, Nice Events and David Roy Williams Entertainment are excited to announce that Postmodern Jukebox will return to New Zealand in September and October 2019 following four hugely successful tours in as many years. The multi-talented collective will bring their re-imagined contemporary hits back to eagerly awaiting fans with a brand-new Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 show. The tour opens up in Tauranga on Friday 11 October, and moves on to Auckland on Saturday 12 October, Hamilton on Sunday 13 October, Napier on Tuesday 15 October, Palmerston North on Wednesday 16 October, Wellington on Friday 18 October and Christchurch on Saturday 19 October before winding up in Dunedin on Sunday 20 October. Tickets go on sale at 9.00am NZDT on Thursday 8 November for the eight-city tour. To usher in the upcoming Twenty-Twenties, the famed time-twisting musical collective will circumnavigate the globe and prepare the world for a new decade with their Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour. Postmodern Jukebox creator Scott Bradlee hopes this new decade will see a return to the style and craftsmanship that typified the music of past generations. “Last time around the ‘Twenties gave us Jazz, America’s one true art form. Who knows what is possible in the 2020s?” says Bradlee. “One thing that is for sure is that there are a lot of folks that are tired of the clickbait headlines, mindless reality TV, and smartphone addiction that has only served to divide people in the last decade. We’re using our small corner of the pop culture space to tell people to forget their troubles, and come join us for a night of celebrating true musical talent and timeless style – live and in real life.” Postmodern Jukebox’s Welcome to the Twenties 2.0 Tour will host official Twenties 2.0 initiation performance parties in nearly 250 cities all around the world. “When creating a touring version of the Postmodern Jukebox concept, we work on pairing the right talent with the right material and building a unique and amazing experience for Postmodern Jukebox fans,” Bradlee says. “Get ready for the most sensational ’20s party this side of The Great Gatsby.” Started by Scott Bradlee in 2009, Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) have gone on to amass over one billion YouTube views with 3.5 million subscribers, and have chalked up more than 1.7 million fans on Facebook. For the past half-decade, PMJ has toured the world, playing hundreds of shows to sold-out houses on six continents. They’ve also performed on showslike “Good Morning America,” topped iTunes and Billboard charts, and caught the attention of NPR Music, NBC News and a wide array of celebrity fans.
